What Quran Says About To Be Drowned?
(Mughraq)
Ha-Mim. [44:1] By the Book that makes things clear;- [44:2] We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil). [44:3] In the (Night) is made distinct every affair of wisdom, [44:4] By command, from Our Presence. For We (ever) send (revelations), [44:5] As Mercy from thy Lord: for He hears and knows (all things); [44:6] The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith. [44:7] There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors. [44:8] Yet they play about in doubt. [44:9] Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible, [44:10] Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous. [44:11] (They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!" [44:12] How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Apostle explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,- [44:13] Yet they turn away from him and say: "Tutored (by others), a man possessed!" [44:14] We shall indeed remove the Penalty for a while, (but) truly ye will revert (to your ways). [44:15] One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught: We will indeed (then) exact Retribution! [44:16] We did, before them, try the people of Pharaoh: there came to them an apostle most honourable, [44:17] Saying: "Restore to me the Servants of God: I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust; [44:18] "And be not arrogant as against God: for I come to you with authority manifest. [44:19] "For me, I have sought safety with my Lord and your Lord, against your injuring me. [44:20] "If ye believe me not, at least keep yourselves away from me." [44:21] (But they were aggressive:) then he cried to his Lord: "These are indeed a people given to sin." [44:22] (The reply came:) "March forth with My Servants by night: for ye are sure to be pursued. [44:23] "And leave the sea as a furrow (divided): for they are a host (destined) to be drowned." [44:24]
We sent Noah to his people (with a mission): "I have come to you with a Clear Warning: [11:25] "That ye serve none but God: Verily I do fear for you the penalty of a grievous day." [11:26] But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "We see (in) thee nothing but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any follow thee but the meanest among us, in judgment immature: Nor do we see in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we thing ye are liars!" [11:27] He said: "O my people! See ye if (it be that) I have a Clear Sign from my Lord, and that He hath sent Mercy unto me from His own presence, but that the Mercy hath been obscured from your sight? shall we compel you to accept it when ye are averse to it? [11:28] "And O my people! I ask you for no wealth in return: my reward is from none but God: But I will not drive away (in contempt) those who believe: for verily they are to meet their Lord, and ye I see are the ignorant ones! [11:29] "And O my people! who would help me against God if I drove them away? Will ye not then take heed? [11:30] "I tell you not that with me are the treasures of God, nor do I know what is hidden, nor claim I to be an angel. Nor yet do I say, of those whom your eyes do despise that God will not grant them (all) that is good: God knoweth best what is in their souls: I should, if I did, indeed be a wrong-doer." [11:31] They said: "O Noah! thou hast disputed with us, and (much) hast thou prolonged the dispute with us: now bring upon us what thou threatenest us with, if thou speakest the truth!?" [11:32] He said: "Truly, God will bring it on you if He wills,- and then, ye will not be able to frustrate it! [11:33] "Of no profit will be my counsel to you, much as I desire to give you (good) counsel, if it be that God willeth to leave you astray: He is your Lord! and to Him will ye return!" [11:34] Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Say: "If I had forged it, on me were my sin! and I am free of the sins of which ye are guilty! [11:35] It was revealed to Noah: "None of thy people will believe except those who have believed already! So grieve no longer over their (evil) deeds. [11:36] "But construct an Ark under Our eyes and Our inspiration, and address Me no (further) on behalf of those who are in sin: for they are about to be overwhelmed (in the Flood)." [11:37]
So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). [23:27]
Forthwith he (starts) constructing the Ark: Every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they threw ridicule on him. He said: "If ye ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise! [11:38] "But soon will ye know who it is on whom will descend a penalty that will cover them with shame,- on whom will be unloosed a penalty lasting:" [11:39] At length, behold! there came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We said: "Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family - except those against whom the word has already gone forth,- and the Believers." but only a few believed with him. [11:40] So he said: "Embark ye on the Ark, In the name of God, whether it move or be at rest! For my Lord is, be sure, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!" [11:41] So the Ark floated with them on the waves (towering) like mountains, and Noah called out to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): "O my son! embark with us, and be not with the unbelievers!" [11:42] The son replied: "I will betake myself to some mountain: it will save me from the water." Noah said: "This day nothing can save, from the command of Allah, any but those on whom He hath mercy! "And the waves came between them, and the son was among those overwhelmed in the Flood. [11:43]
