What Quran Says About Good?

(Khayrat)

To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. To each among you have we prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to Allah. it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which ye dispute; [5:48]

To each is a goal to which Allah turns him; then strive together (as in a race) Towards all that is good. Wheresoever ye are, Allah will bring you Together. For Allah Hath power over all things. [2:148]

That which We have revealed to thee of the Book is the Truth,- confirming what was (revealed) before it: for God is assuredly- with respect to His Servants - well acquainted and Fully Observant. [35:31] Then We have given the Book for inheritance to such of Our Servants as We have chosen: but there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some who follow a middle course; and some who are, by Allah's leave, foremost in good deeds; that is the highest Grace. [35:32]

But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. [23:53] But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time.

[23:54] Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, [23:55] We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. [23:56]

But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper. [9:88]

They believe in Allah and the Last Day; they enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong; and they hasten (in emulation) in (all) good works: They are in the ranks of the righteous. [3:114]

It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. [23:61]

And (remember) Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: "O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors." [21:89] So We listened to him: and We granted him Yahya: We cured his wife's (Barrenness) for him. These (three) were ever quick in emulation in good works; they used to call on Us with love and reverence, and humble themselves before Us. [21:90]

We bestowed aforetime on Abraham his rectitude of conduct, and well were We acquainted with him. [21:51] Behold! he said to his father and his people, "What are these images, to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?" [21:52] They said, "We found our fathers worshipping them." [21:53] He said, "Indeed ye have been in manifest error - ye and your fathers." [21:54] They said, "Have you brought us the Truth, or are you one of those who jest?" [21:55] He said, "Nay, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, He Who created them (from nothing): and I am a witness to this (Truth). [21:56] "And by God, I have a plan for your idols - after ye go away and turn your backs".. [21:57] So he broke them to pieces, (all) but the biggest of them, that they might turn (and address themselves) to it. [21:58] They said, "Who has done this to our gods? He must indeed be some man of impiety!" [21:59] They said, "We heard a youth talk of them: He is called Abraham." [21:60] They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness." [21:61] They said, "Art thou the one that did this with our gods, O Abraham?" [21:62] He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently!" [21:63] So they turned to themselves and said, "Surely ye are the ones in the wrong!" [21:64] Then were they confounded with shame: (they said), "Thou knowest full well that these (idols) do not speak!" [21:65] (Abraham) said, "Do ye then worship, besides God, things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm? [21:66] "Fie upon you, and upon the things that ye worship besides God! Have ye no sense?".. [21:67] They said, "Burn him and protect your gods, If ye do (anything at all)!" [21:68] We said, "O Fire! be thou cool, and (a means of) safety for Abraham!" [21:69] Then they sought a stratagem against him: but We made them the ones that lost most! [21:70] But We delivered him and (his nephew) Lut (and directed them) to the land which We have blessed for the nations. [21:71] And We bestowed on him Isaac and, as an additional gift, (a grandson), Jacob, and We made righteous men of every one (of them). [21:72] And We made them leaders, guiding (men) by Our Command, and We sent them inspiration to do good deeds, to establish regular prayers, and to practise regular charity; and they constantly served Us (and Us only). [21:73]

They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach). [55:54] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? [55:55] In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;- [55:56] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- [55:57] Like unto Rubies and coral. [55:58] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? [55:59] Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good? [55:60] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? [55:61] And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,- [55:62] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- [55:63] Dark-green in colour (from plentiful watering). [55:64] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? [55:65] In them (each) will be two Springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance: [55:66] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? [55:67] In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates: [55:58] Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? [55:69] In them will be fair (Companions), good, beautiful;- [55:70]
