What Quran Says About We Drowned Them?
(Aghraqnahum)
We did send Moses aforetime, with Our Signs, to Pharaoh and his Chiefs: He said, "I am an apostle of the Lord of the Worlds." [43:46] But when he came to them with Our Signs, behold they ridiculed them. [43:47] We showed them Sign after Sign, each greater than its fellow, and We seized them with Punishment, in order that they might turn (to Us). [43:48] And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance." [43:49] But when We removed the Penalty from them, behold, they broke their word. [43:50] And Pharaoh proclaimed among his people, saying: "O my people! Does not the dominion of Egypt belong to me, (witness) these streams flowing underneath my (palace)? What! see ye not then? [43:51] "Am I not better than this (Moses), who is a contemptible wretch and can scarcely express himself clearly? [43:52] "Then why are not gold bracelets bestowed on him, or (why) come (not) with him angels accompanying him in procession?" [43:53] Thus did he make fools of his people, and they obeyed him: truly were they a people rebellious (against God). [43:54] When at length they provoked Us, We exacted retribution from them, and We drowned them all. [43:55]
So We exacted retribution from them: We drowned them in the sea, because they rejected Our Signs and failed to take warning from them. [7:136] And We made a people, considered weak (and of no account), inheritors of lands in both east and west, - lands whereon We sent down Our blessings. The fair promise of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because they had patience and constancy, and We levelled to the ground the great works and fine buildings which Pharaoh and his people erected (with such pride). [7:137]
(Remember) Noah, when he cried (to Us) aforetime: We listened to his (prayer) and delivered him and his family from great distress. [21:76] We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together. [21:77]
As also 'Ad and Thamud, and the Companions of the Rass, and many a generation between them. [25:38] To each one We set forth Parables and examples; and each one We broke to utter annihilation (for their sins). [25:39] And the (Unbelievers) must indeed have passed by the town on which was rained a shower of evil: did they not then see it (with their own eyes)? But they fear not the Resurrection. [25:40] When they see thee, they treat thee no otherwise than in mockery: "Is this the one whom God has sent as an apostle?" [25:41] "He indeed would well-nigh have misled us from our gods, had it not been that we were constant to them!" - Soon will they know, when they see the Penalty, who it is that is most misled in Path! [25:42] Seest thou such a one as taketh for his god his own passion (or impulse)? Couldst thou be a disposer of affairs for him? [25:43] Or thinkest thou that most of them listen or understand? They are only like cattle;- nay, they are worse astray in Path. [25:44] And the people of Noah,- when they rejected the apostles, We drowned them, and We made them as a Sign for mankind; and We have prepared for (all) wrong-doers a grievous Penalty;- [25:37]
