What Quran Says About “Highest Achievement” (Fawzu Alaaatheem)

O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and (always) say a word directed to the Right: [33:70] That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you your sins: He that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the highest achievement. [33:71]

Behold! verily on the friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve; [10:62] Those who believe and (constantly) guard against evil;- [10:63] For them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the Hereafter; no change can there be in the words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme felicity. [10:64]

Those who sustain the Throne (of Allah) and those around it Sing Glory and Praise to their Lord; believe in Him; and implore Forgiveness for those who believe: "Our Lord! Thy Reach is over all things, in Mercy and Knowledge. Forgive, then, those who turn in Repentance, and follow Thy Path; and preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire! [40:7] "And grant, our Lord! that they enter the Gardens of Eternity, which Thou hast promised to them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their posterity! For Thou art (He), the Exalted in Might, Full of Wisdom. [40:8] "And preserve them from (all) ills; and any whom Thou dost preserve from ills that Day,- on them wilt Thou have bestowed Mercy indeed: and that will be truly (for them) the highest Achievement". [40:9]

O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?- [61:10] That ye believe in Allah and His Apostle, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! [61:11] He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement. [61:12]

Those are limits set by Allah. those who obey Allah and His Messenger will be admitted to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath, to abide therein (for ever) and that will be the supreme achievement. [4:13]

Allah hath promised to Believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein, and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting bliss. But the greatest bliss is the good pleasure of Allah. that is the supreme felicity. [9:72]

Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah. then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme. [9:111]

But the Apostle, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper. [9:88] Allah hath prepared for them gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein: that is the supreme felicity. [9:89]

The vanguard (of Islam)- the first of those who forsook (their homes) and of those who gave them aid, and (also) those who follow them in (all) good deeds,- well- pleased is Allah with them, as are they with Him: for them hath He prepared gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that is the supreme felicity. [9:100]

O ye who believe! Take your precautions, and either go forth in parties or go forth all together. [4:71] There are certainly among you men who would tarry behind: If a misfortune befalls you, they say: "Allah did favour us in that we were not present among them." [4:72] But if good fortune comes to you from Allah, they would be sure to say - as if there had never been Ties of affection between you and them - "Oh! I wish I had been with them; a fine thing should I then have made of it!" [4:73]

As to the Righteous (they will be) in a position of Security, [44:51] Among Gardens and Springs; [44:52] Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other; [44:53] So; and We shall join them to Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes. [44:54] There can they call for every kind of fruit in peace and security; [44:55] Nor will they there taste Death, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire,- [44:56] As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement! [44:57]

It is He Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the Believers, that they may add faith to their faith;- for to Allah belong the Forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom;- [48:4] That He may admit the men and women who believe, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to dwell therein for aye, and remove their ills from them;- and that is, in the sight of Allah, the highest achievement (for man),- [48:5]

One Day shalt thou see the believing men and the believing women- how their Light runs forward before them and by their right hands: (their greeting will be): "Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which flow rivers! to dwell therein for aye! This is indeed the highest Achievement!" [57:12]

Believe, therefore, in Allah and His Apostle, and in the Light which we have sent down. And Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do. [64:8] The Day that He assembles you (all) for a Day of Assembly,- that will be a Day of mutual loss and gain (among you), and those who believe in Allah and work righteousness,- He will remove from them their ills, and He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that will be the Supreme Achievement. [64:9]

Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- [37:38] But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- [37:39] But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- [37:40] For them is a Sustenance determined, [37:41] Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, [37:42] In Gardens of Felicity, [37:43] Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): [37:44] Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, [37:45] Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), [37:46] Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. [37:47] And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). [37:48] As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. [37:49] Then they will turn to one another and question one another. [37:50] One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), [37:51] "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? [37:52] "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" [37:53] (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" [37:54] He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. [37:55] He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! [37:56] "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! [37:57] "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, [37:58] "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" [37:59] Verily this is the supreme achievement! [37:60]

And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah'?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden. [5:116] "Never said I to them aught except what Thou didst command me to say, to wit, 'worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord'; and I was a witness over them whilst I dwelt amongst them; when Thou didst take me up Thou wast the Watcher over them, and Thou art a witness to all things. [5:117] "If Thou dost punish them, they are Thy servant: If Thou dost forgive them, Thou art the Exalted in power, the Wise." [5:118] Allah will say: "This is a day on which the truthful will profit from their truth: theirs are gardens, with rivers flowing beneath,- their eternal Home: Allah well-pleased with them, and they with Allah. That is the great salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires). [5:119]
