What Quran Says About Tried?

(Balawn)

Verily it is thy Lord that knoweth best, which (among men) hath strayed from His Path: and He knoweth best those who receive (true) Guidance. [68:7] So hearken not to those who deny (the Truth). [68:8] Their desire is that thou shouldst be pliant: so would they be pliant. [68:9] Heed not the type of despicable men,- ready with oaths, [68:10] A slanderer, going about with calumnies, [68:11] (Habitually) hindering (all) good, transgressing beyond bounds, deep in sin, [68:12] Violent (and cruel),- with all that, base-born,- [68:13] Because he possesses wealth and (numerous) sons. [68:14] When to him are rehearsed Our Signs, "Tales of the ancients", he cries! [68:15] Soon shall We brand (the beast) on the snout! [68:16] Verily We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning. [68:17]

Now, as for man, when his Lord trieth him, giving him honour and gifts, then saith he, (puffed up), "My Lord hath honoured me." [89:15]

But when He trieth him, restricting his subsistence for him, then saith he (in despair), "My Lord hath humiliated me!" [89:16] Nay, nay! but ye honour not the orphans! [89:17] Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!- [89:18] And ye devour inheritance - all with greed, [89:19] And ye love wealth with inordinate love! [89:20]

Ye shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves; and ye shall certainly Hear much that will grieve you, from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if ye persevere patiently, and guard against evil,-then that will be a determining factor in all affairs. [3:186]

The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers. Blood-relations among each other have closer personal ties, in the Decree of God. Than (the Brotherhood of) Believers and Muhajirs: nevertheless do ye what is just to your closest friends: such is the writing in the Decree (of God). [33:6] And remember We took from the prophets their covenant: As (We did) from thee: from Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus the son of Mary: We took from them a solemn covenant: [33:7] That (God) may question the (custodians) of Truth concerning the Truth they (were charged with): And He has prepared for the Unbelievers a grievous Penalty. [33:8] O ye who believe! Remember the Grace of God, (bestowed) on you, when there came down on you hosts (to overwhelm you): But We sent against them a hurricane and forces that ye saw not: but God sees (clearly) all that ye do. [33:9] Behold! they came on you from above you and from below you, and behold, the eyes became dim and the hearts gaped up to the throats, and ye imagined various (vain) thoughts about God! [33:10] In that situation were the Believers tried: they were shaken as by a tremendous shaking. [33:11]

And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers." [2:124]

Of the people of Moses there is a section who guide and do justice in the light of truth. [7:159] We divided them into twelve tribes or nations. We directed Moses by inspiration, when his (thirsty) people asked him for water: "Strike the rock with thy staff": out of it there gushed forth twelve springs: Each group knew its own place for water. We gave them the shade of clouds, and sent down to them manna and quails, (saying): "Eat of the good things We have provided for you": (but they rebelled); to Us they did no harm, but they harmed their own souls. [7:160] And remember it was said to them: "Dwell in this town and eat therein as ye wish, but say the word of humility and enter the gate in a posture of humility: We shall forgive you your faults; We shall increase (the portion of) those who do good." [7:161] But the transgressors among them changed the word from that which had been given them so we sent on them a plague from heaven. For that they repeatedly transgressed. [7:162] Ask them concerning the town standing close by the sea. Behold! they transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath. For on the day of their Sabbath their fish did come to them, openly holding up their heads, but on the day they had no Sabbath, they came not: thus did We make a trial of them, for they were given to transgression. [7:163] When some of them said: "Why do ye preach to a people whom God will destroy or visit with a terrible punishment?"- said the preachers:" To discharge our duty to your Lord, and perchance they may fear Him." [7:164] When they disregarded the warnings that had been given them, We rescued those who forbade Evil; but We visited the wrong-doers with a grievous punishment because they were given to transgression. [7:165] When in their insolence they transgressed (all) prohibitions, We said to them: "Be ye apes, despised and rejected." [7:166] Behold! thy Lord did declare that He would send against them, to the Day of Judgment, those who would afflict them with grievous penalty. Thy Lord is quick in retribution, but He is also Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. [7:167] We broke them up into sections on this earth. There are among them some that are the righteous, and some that are the opposite. We have tried them with both prosperity and adversity: In order that they might turn (to us). [7:168]
