What Quran Says About Blast?

(Sayhat)

When the Hypocrites come to thee, they say, "We bear witness that thou art indeed the Apostle of God." Yea, God knoweth that thou art indeed His Apostle, and God beareth witness that the Hypocrites are indeed liars. [63:1] They have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus they obstruct (men) from the Path of God: truly evil are their deeds. [63:2] That is because they believed, then they rejected Faith: So a seal was set on their hearts: therefore they understand not. [63:3] When thou lookest at them, their exteriors please thee; and when they speak, thou listenest to their words. They are as (worthless as hollow) pieces of timber propped up, (unable to stand on their own). They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies; so beware of them. The curse of Allah be on them! How are they deluded (away from the Truth)! [63:4]

(Further, We sent a long line of prophets for your instruction). We sent Noah to his people: He said, "O my people! worship God! Ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?" [23:23] The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if God had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old." [23:24] (And some said): "He is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time." [23:25] (Noah) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood!" [23:26] So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood). [23:27] And when thou hast embarked on the Ark - thou and those with thee,- say: "Praise be to God, Who has saved us from the people who do wrong." [23:28] And say: "O my Lord! enable me to disembark with thy blessing: for Thou art the Best to enable (us) to disembark." [23:29] Verily in this there are Signs (for men to understand); (thus) do We try (men). [23:30] Then We raised after them another generation. [23:31] And We sent to them an apostle from among themselves, (saying), "Worship God! ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?" [23:32] And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. [23:33] "If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost. [23:34] "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)? [23:35] "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! [23:36] "There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again! [23:37] "He is only a man who invents a lie against God, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" [23:38] (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." [23:39] (God) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" [23:40] Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! [23:41]

(Remember also) the 'Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intelligence and skill. [29:38] (Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us). [29:39] Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not Allah Who injured (or oppressed) them:" They injured (and oppressed) their own souls. [29:40]

The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. [54:23] For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! [54:24] "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!" [54:25] Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! [54:26] For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! [54:27] And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns). [54:28] But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). [54:29] Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! [54:30] For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. [54:31]

To the Thamud People (We sent) Salih, one of their own brethren. He said: "O my people! Worship God: ye have no other god but Him. It is He Who hath produced you from the earth and settled you therein: then ask forgiveness of Him, and turn to Him (in repentance): for my Lord is (always) near, ready to answer." [11:61] They said: "O Salih! thou hast been of us! a centre of our hopes Hitherto! dost thou (now) forbid us the worship of what our fathers worshipped? But we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which thou invitest us."

[11:62] He said: "O my people! do ye see? if I have a Clear (Sign) from my Lord and He hath sent Mercy unto me from Himself,- who then can help me against God if I were to disobey Him? What then would ye add to my (portion) but perdition? [11:63] "And O my people! This she-camel of God is a symbol to you: leave her to feed on God's (free) earth, and inflict no harm on her, or a swift penalty will seize you!" [11:64] But they did ham-string her. So he said: "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days: (Then will be your ruin): (Behold) there a promise not to be belied!" [11:65] When Our Decree issued, We saved Salih and those who believed with him, by (special) Grace from Ourselves - and from the Ignominy of that day. For thy Lord - He is the Strong One, and able to enforce His Will. [11:66] The (mighty) Blast overtook the wrong-doers, and they lay prostrate in their homes before the morning,- [11:67]

To the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said: "O my people! serve God, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief." [29:36] 29:37 But they rejected him: Then the mighty BLAST seized them, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning. [29:37]

To the Madyan People (We sent) Shu'aib, one of their own brethren: he said: "O my people! worship God: Ye have no other god but Him. And give not short measure or weight: I see you in prosperity, but I fear for you the penalty of a day that will compass (you) all round. [11:84] "And O my people! give just measure and weight, nor withhold from the people the things that are their due: commit not evil in the land with intent to do mischief. [11:85] "That which is left you by God is best for you, if ye (but) believed! but I am not set over you to keep watch!" [11:86] They said: "O Shu'aib! Does thy (religion of) prayer command thee that we leave off the worship which our fathers practised, or that we leave off doing what we like with our property? truly, thou art the one that forbeareth with faults and is right- minded!" [11:87] He said: "O my people! see ye whether I have a Clear (Sign) from my Lord, and He hath given me sustenance (pure and) good as from Himself? I wish not, in opposition to you, to do that which I forbid you to do. I only desire (your) betterment to the best of my power; and my success (in my task) can only come from God. In Him I trust, and unto Him I look. [11:88] "And O my people! let not my dissent (from you) cause you to sin, lest ye suffer a fate similar to that of the people of Noah or of Hud or of Salih, nor are the people of Lut far off from you! [11:89] "But ask forgiveness of your Lord, and turn unto Him (in repentance): For my Lord is indeed full of mercy and loving-kindness." [11:90] They said: "O Shu'aib! much of what thou sayest we do not understand! In fact among us we see that thou hast no strength! Were it not for thy family, we should certainly have stoned thee! for thou hast among us no great position!" [11:91] He said: "O my people! is then my family of more consideration with you than God? For ye cast Him away behind your backs (with contempt). But verily my Lord encompasseth on all sides all that ye do! [11:92] "And O my people! Do whatever ye can: I will do (my part): Soon will ye know who it is on whom descends the penalty of ignominy; and who is a liar! and watch ye! for I too am watching with you!" [11:93] When Our decree issued, We saved Shu'aib and those who believed with him, by (special) mercy from Ourselves: But the (mighty) blast did seize the wrong- doers, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning,- [11:94]

Tell them about the guests of Abraham. [15:51] When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!" [15:52] They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom." [15:53] He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?" [15:54] They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!" [15:55] He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?" [15:56] Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of God)?" [15:57] They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin, [15:58] "Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm),- All - [15:59] "Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind." [15:60] At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, [15:61] He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." [15:62] They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. [15:63] "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. [15:64] "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." [15:65] And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. [15:66] The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). [15:67] Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: [15:68] "But fear God, and shame me not." [15:69] They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" [15:70] He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." [15:71] Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. [15:72] But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, [15:73]

And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; [15:78] So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. [15:79] The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the apostles: [15:80] We sent them Our Sings, but they persisted in turning away from them. [15:81] Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. [15:82] But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, [15:83]

Set forth to them, by way of a parable, the (story of) the Companions of the City. Behold!, there came apostles to it. [36:13] When We (first) sent to them two apostles, they rejected them: But We strengthened them with a third: they said, "Truly, we have been sent on a mission to you." [36:14] The (people) said: "Ye are only men like ourselves; and (God) Most Gracious sends no sort of revelation: ye do nothing but lie." [36:15] They said: "Our Lord doth know that we have been sent on a mission to you: [36:16] "And our duty is only to proclaim the clear Message." [36:17] The (people) said: "for us, we augur an evil omen from you: if ye desist not, we will certainly stone you. And a grievous punishment indeed will be inflicted on you by us." [36:18] They said: "Your evil omens are with yourselves: (deem ye this an evil omen). If ye are admonished? Nay, but ye are a people transgressing all bounds!" [36:19] Then there came running, from the farthest part of the City, a man, saying, "O my people! Obey the apostles: [36:20] "Obey those who ask no reward of you (for themselves), and who have themselves received Guidance. [36:21] "It would not be reasonable in me if I did not serve Him Who created me, and to Whom ye shall (all) be brought back. [36:22] "Shall I take (other) gods besides Him? If (God) Most Gracious should intend some adversity for me, of no use whatever will be their intercession for me, nor can they deliver me. [36:23] "I would indeed, if I were to do so, be in manifest Error. [36:24] "For me, I have faith in the Lord of you (all): listen, then, to me!" [36:25] It was said: "Enter thou the Garden." He said: "Ah me! Would that my People knew (what I know)!- [36:26] "For that my Lord has granted me Forgiveness and has enrolled me among those held in honour!" [36:27] And We sent not down against his People, after him, any hosts from heaven, nor was it needful for Us so to do. [36:28] It was no more than a single mighty Blast, and behold! they were (like ashes) quenched and silent. [36:29]

Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. [36:46] And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which God has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if God had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)?- Ye are in nothing but manifest error." [36:47] Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?" [36:48] They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! [36:49]

No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people! [36:50] The trumpet shall be sounded, when behold! from the sepulchres (men) will rush forth to their Lord! [36:51] They will say: "Ah! Woe unto us! Who hath raised us up from our beds of repose?"... (A voice will say:) "This is what (God) Most Gracious had promised. And true was the word of the apostles!" [36:52] It will be no more than a single Blast, when lo! they will all be brought up before Us! [36:53]

Before them (were many who) rejected apostles,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, [38:12] And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. [38:13] Not one (of them) but rejected the apostles, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). [38:14] These (today) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay. [38:15]

And listen for the Day when the Caller will call out from a place quiet near,- [50:41] The Day when they will hear a (mighty) Blast in (very) truth: that will be the Day of Resurrection. [50:42]
