What Quran Says About Guide?
(Imam)
And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers." [2:124]
Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind, and of all things have We taken account in a clear Book (of evidence). [36:12]
One day We shall call together all human beings with their (respective) Imams: those who are given their record in their right hand will read it (with pleasure), and they will not be dealt with unjustly in the least. [17:71] But those who were blind in this world, will be blind in the hereafter, and most astray from the Path. [17:72]
And the servants of (God) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!"; [25:63] Those who spend the night in adoration of their Lord prostrate and standing; [25:64] Those who say, "Our Lord! avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous,- [25:65] "Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in"; [25:66] Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not niggardly, but hold a just (balance) between those (extremes); [25:67] Those who invoke not, with God, any other god, nor slay such life as God has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; - and any that does this (not only) meets punishment. [25:68] (But) the Penalty on the Day of Judgment will be doubled to him, and he will dwell therein in ignominy,- [25:69] Unless he repents, believes, and works righteous deeds, for God will change the evil of such persons into good, and God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful, [25:70] And whoever repents and does good has truly turned to God with an (acceptable) conversion;- [25:71] Those who witness no falsehood, and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance); [25:72] Those who, when they are admonished with the Signs of their Lord, droop not down at them as if they were deaf or blind; [25:73] And those who pray, "Our Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous." [25:74]
Those who desire the life of the present and its glitter,- to them we shall pay (the price of) their deeds therein,- without diminution. [11:15] They are those for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire: vain are the designs they frame therein, and of no effect and the deeds that they do! [11:16] Can they be (like) those who accept a Clear (Sign) from their Lord, and whom a witness from Himself doth teach, as did the Book of Moses before it,- a guide and a mercy? They believe therein; but those of the Sects that reject it,- the Fire will be their promised meeting-place. Be not then in doubt thereon: for it is the truth from thy Lord: yet many among men do not believe! [11:17]
And before this, was the Book of Moses as a guide and a mercy: And this Book confirms (it) in the Arabic tongue; to admonish the unjust, and as Glad Tidings to those who do right. [46:12]
We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; [15:26] And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. [15:27] Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape; [15:28] "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." [15:29] So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: [15:30] Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. [15:31] (God) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" [15:32] (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." [15:33] (God) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. [15:34] "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." [15:35] (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." [15:36] (God) said: "Respite is granted thee [15:37] "Till the Day of the Time appointed." [15:38] (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- [15:39] "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." [15:40] (God) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. [15:41] "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." [15:42] And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! [15:43] To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. [15:44] The righteous (will be) amid gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water). [15:45] (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security." [15:46] And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity). [15:47] There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave. [15:48] Tell My servants that I am indeed the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful; [15:49] And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty. [15:50] Tell them about the guests of Abraham. [15:51] When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!" [15:52] They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom." [15:53] He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?" [15:54] They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!" [15:55] He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?" [15:56] Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of God)?" [15:57] They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin, [15:58] "Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm),- All - [15:59] "Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind." [15:60] At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, [15:61] He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." [15:62] They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. [15:63] "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. [15:64] "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." [15:65] And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. [15:66] The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). [15:67] Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: [15:68] "But fear God, and shame me not." [15:69] They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" [15:70] He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." [15:71] Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. [15:72] But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, [15:73] And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. [15:74] Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. [15:75] And the (cities were) right on the high-road. [15:76] Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. [15:77] And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; [15:78] So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. [15:79]
